The Moto Z Play successor is introduced in the market. There is no much change in the model of the last year. The specifications have been decreased and Lenovo is providing the Moto Mods ecosystem and it has released new ones to complete the Moto Z2 Play. The phone is provided in the market for $500 in US and no release date has been announced for Pakistan.
Design and Display
The Z2 Play has larger fingerprint sensor as compared to previous model and has now oval at the bottom of the screen. The display of Moto Z2 play has the features of same 5.5 inch Super AMOLED 1080p resolution display. There is another small change to the design of the antenna lines, which run along edge of back side. Lenovo has the glass back for metal on which the mobile is made less fragile.
Internals and Storage
The SoC has slight upgrade and go from octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 to octa-core Snapdragon 626 in new Moto Z2 Play to make for gigantic 0.2 GHz with difference in clock speeds of two processors. Moto Z2 Play provides in the market with 3 or 4 GB of RAM, when you depend on the model. There are two storage capacities with 32 GB with 3 GB RAM variant and 64 GB with 4 GB RAM variant. It is added with Android 7.1.1 Nougat with near stock Motorola skin and Moto Z2 Play will get the separate dual SIM variant with dedicated microSD card slot.
Camera and Battery
The pixel counts of the mobile phone were decreased from 16 MP to 12 MP, which is compared to the Moto Z Play of last year. Z2 play can now snap the photos and focus faster. The users do not expect iPhone 7 or Galaxy S8 level quality and it is provided in the market with phase detection and laser autofocus and dual LED flash in addition to the 4K video recording. The front camera of the mobile phone is unchanged and it has 5 MP sensor. It has dual LED flash on front and single LED flash in older Moto Z Play. Moto Z2 Play has 3000 mAh battery which can be compared with 3510 battery of the model of last year.
The Moto Mods family has the upgrades with new Moto GamePad Mod. This GamePad turns the smart phone into the android gaming console with analog sticks and buttons to match. It is added with 1035 mAh battery and it will cost for $80.
The next coming is Moto TurboPower pack, which is added with 3490 mAh battery capacity to the Moto Z2 Play. The Moto Z Play of last year has the Incipio battery pack with 2000 mAh battery capacity. It will also provide for $80. The JBL Soundboost Mod is added with an upgrade and it has two 3W speakers with built-in kickstand and extra 1000 mAh battery and it takes the occasional water splashes and this mode will cost for $80.
Now we have Moto Style Shell with wireless charging and it is introduced in the market with 4 different patterns and supports the Qi and PMA Charging pads. This mod is provided for sale for $40.
