After confirmation of Corona Virus cases in Pakistan, people are buying and wearing masks as precautionary measures to avoid being victim of deadly corona virus. The huge demand of masks over the country has made the masks more expansive and profiters have started to store the masks to sale in an expansive amount. But the news is that the masks are not proved protective to rescue you from the infectious corona virus and contrary to this they can be more risky of getting the virus.
Don’t Wear Mask for Corona Virus
According to latest news the U.S Surgeon General appealed to stop buying masks in his tweet on 29 February 2020. So check out the tweet.
“They are NOT effective in preventing the general public from catching Corona virus”
And further added
“Masks are essential only for healthcare providers caring for the sick patients”
On the other side an infection prevention specialist Eli Perencevich gave the same message a few days ago that masks carrying a greater risk of infecting people, He said:
“The average healthy person does not need to have a mask, and they shouldn’t be wearing masks,” Dr. Perencevich said. “There’s no evidence that wearing masks on healthy people will protect them. They wear them incorrectly, and they can increase the risk of infection because they’re touching their face more often.”
When to use a Mask by WHO
Furthermore, the World Health Organization also declared that the masks are not effective for protection of COVID-19 but only in the case you are taking cares of a Corona Virus effected patient.
So just avoid wearing masks that are not protective for you against corona virus and also be proved hazardous. You can only protect yourself and those around you, wash your hands more frequently with generous amounts of soap, cover your face while sneezing or coughing, avoid touching your face, and stay away from crowds as much as possible.
