Pakistan Post has made the announcement to open its 41 rest houses all over Pakistan so that they can provide the accommodation facilities to the local and foreign tourists. The senior official of this department said that this movie was taken with the vision of the prime minister of Pakistan, who has been the strong proponent to promote the tourism across the country and they offer the cost effective accommodation to travelers at the scenic locations.

This move will bring the revenue for department and it will also boost the tourism industry in the country. The Minister for Communication and Postal Services said that these rest houses should be upgraded from Karachi to Murree.

First the officials of Pakistan post use these rest houses and now they are accessible to general public. The official notification has been issued and the domestic and foreign tourists can avail these inexpensive rates at the rest houses.

Rates and Categories

The rest houses of Pakistan post will be divided into three categories and the highest categories will be A Category. This category of the rest houses will charge PKR 3,000 per day and the A category rest houses are located in Faisalabad, Lahore (Shadman and Cantt), Jhelum, Multan, Nathia Gali, Mianwali, Karachi, Quetta, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Sialkot GPO and Sialkot cantt.

Next category is B category and it will cost per day PKR 2000 and this type of rest houses are located in Attock, Gujrat, Gilgit, Layyah, Murree GPO, Qallat, DI Khan, Kohat, Ayubia, Abbottabad, Sargodha, Chitral, Sust, Mirpur, Muzaffarabad, Taftan, Sorab, Mirpurkhas, Skardu, Amri and Kotli.

The last category is C and the rent of this category is PKR 1200 per day and these rest houses are located at Bannu, Pindi Point Murree, Sialkot cantt, Ziarat and Saidu Sharif.
