Yesterday PTCL inked an agreement with DHA City Karachi (DCK) for Integrated Communication Technology (ICT) and infrastructure development.
Towards developing DHA City Karachi as the first Smart City of Pakistan, the partnership is aimed.
President and CEO PTCL, Walid Irshad said that it is pleasing to extend partnership and collaboration with DHA. Towards meeting the higher bandwidth and telecommunication needs of the first smart city of Pakistan, this strategic partnership is geared.
Walid Irshad also said that to provide optimal ICT services in a reliable and sustainable manner and improves the overall quality of life; PTCL will develop integrated hysical and digital infrastructures for the residents of DHA City Karachi.
For becoming the partner of DHA in making the first Smart City project of the country, administrator DHA Brig M Abdullah congratulated PTCL. He said that towards developing DHA City Karachi as a planned, futuristic and sustainable city of international stature, the event was yet another landmark. He said that to ensure the vision of Smart City was transformed into a reality, DHA would contribute in every way.
Brig Abdullah said that in terms of making DCK more sustainable through providing real-time information to residents, service operators and stake holders, the new ICT networks and technologies present a huge opportunity.
ICT infrastructure will also be used for management of urban requirements Smart City like e-governance, surveillance and disaster management, said earlier by Director DCK. He said that the communications’ infrastructure was seemed as the nerves and veins, the physically built infrastructure as the skeleton and virtual overlay as organs and muscles which would make the city to move in a vivid manner and breathe.
The ceremony was also attended by a large number of DHA and PTCL officials.
