Islamabad, Federal Interior Minister, Chaudhary Nisar has accorded the approval of the road map for renewal verification of the identity cards of about 25 million families across Pakistan. The Interior Ministry has conducted the meeting with NADRA officials in Islamabad and Chairman NADRA gave a detailed briefing to the interior minister for the again verification of the identity cards and said that NADRA will send a SMS to the head of the family under this road map in which the names of rest of the family members will be asked and the family tree will be verified. In the SMS, there will be an option, given to the head of the family members that if any name is included in their family tree, then they can respond to NADRA with option of ‘No’.
In the first stage of road map, NADRA will start this work in such districts, in which there will be report of maximum fake identity cards. For the facility of the people, NADRA will receive about 10 thousands phone calls daily and 3 lac SMS. NADRA will also use the biometric data of 13 crore SIMs kept with Pakistan Telecommunication Authority for the verification of identity cards.
