Pakistan Television News is the first news channel of Pakistan, which started its transmission during November 1964. This is the state news channel and it had monopoly over the broadcasting of news for a long period of time. When other news channels were allowed to transmit news and current affair programs, then huge number of people shifted to other channels. This channel provides news in Urdu and English languages but it can also provide news updates in various local languages like Gojri, Balti, Sindhi, Kashmiri, Arabic, Shena, Gujrati and Pashto. This channel was criticized for the favorable news reporting and most of the people do not believe in its reporting.
