+

In the international waters, hundreds of ships are moving from one country to another and their noise, oil and other postillions are affecting the oceans negatively. Therefore, Norway’s company is manufacturing world’s 1st total electric ship which is also partially automatic.

Yara has started work on electrical ship with the cooperation of technology company Kongsberg that will start its journey in ocean next year. The name of this ship is Yara Barkland and it will transport chemical and fertilizers from city Beryok to Larok. It will become semi-automatic till 2018 and fully automatic by 2020. So far, 40,000 trucks are used to transport these goods.

The use of this ship will not only reduce the emission of Co2 and other harmful gases while 40,000 trucks will also not be required. This battery-run ship is environment friendly.

Although, there are several legal and technical restrictions regarding automatic ship maneuvering in the seas but Norway is considering about this option since long. Recently, the Coastal Administration of Norway and Norway Maritime Authority have reached an agreement according to which a specific area has been exclusive for automatic ship.
