Google Unveils Android 5.0, Nexus 6 and Nexus 9

Through a blog post, Google disclosed the two new Nexus devices and the newest update to Android.
Lollipop is the name of new Android version 5.0. It’s a big modernization by all means. It includes several new functions like the ability to display notifications from the lock screen directly, to censor notifications if you’re in a meeting and guest mode. Dashclock Extension was an indirect method to do these things before but now these can be done directly by Android.
Android Lollipop is a step forward for the concept of Material Design in which all your devices are focused by a uniform OS experience. So if smartphone and tablet versions of an app are designed according to the latest guidelines then there’d be not much difference on comparing them. The feature of battery-saver is another good addition which will extend up to 90-minute life of your device. Lastly there’s addition of 500 new APIs which will massively extended the developer support.

Nexus 6

Finally, the Nexus 6 has been revealed and it looks quite good. Its 6 inch screen with a remarkable 2560×1440 display is the most important feature manufactured by Motorola. It also has 3GB RAM and 2.65GHz quad-core processor for power. A 13MP camera with dual LED flash is at the back.

Other specs include Turbo Charging to get six hours usage with 15 minute charge, dual stereo speakers and a 3220 non-replaceable battery.

The phone will be available in 32GB and 64GB versions and it’ll run Android Lollipop. Its pre-orders will go live on 29thOctober and its shipping will start in November. The 32GB version is expected to cost $649 but it’s not an official verdict. The Nexus 5 is still available if you want a cheaper option.
