The iPad Air is up for sale now, just as Apple promised at the announcement event. The latest and greatest iOS slate is offered by the Apple Store, major carriers worldwide, select brick-and-mortar and online stores.

Around the end of November it’s going to become available for purchase, as for the Apple iPad mini 2 with Retina display. The reason why both iPads haven’t launched at the same time has not been stated by Apple officially, but clearly it’s due to supply shortages.

Tim Cook is confident about the domination of his company at the tablet market this year. But, according to analysts, there are serious issues about the production of the 2nd generation iPad mini. As a result, for this holiday season, only a limited number of iPad mini 2 units will be available. For the company and its next quarterly financial report, this could turn out to be quite a headache.

Regarding potential iPad mini 2 shortages, Cook stated that it is unclear for the quarter, whether we have enough iPads, which shows that it’s difficult for Apple to supply iPad mini 2 before 2014.

A new report from China says that there are having huge issues with the production for one of the two iPad mini 2 screen suppliers (LG Display), which shows that the situation is even worse than previously expected.
