The Home Ministry is requested by Federal Investigation Agency regarding direct access to mobile phone records of over 125 million subscribers.

It will be possible for FIA to track the call records, cell phone user location and other necessary details between user and operators once FIA is granted.

A the moment only 2 agencies have direct access to the records of the customers Police and FIA  the other law enforcement agencies requests the approved agencies for any information required regarding mobile phone subscribers.

According to FIA crime rate in the country has increased a lot therefore it is important for the agency to have direct and instant access of mobile phone subscribers in order to curtail the crimes.

Most criminals are easily tracked through their mobile phone records as per FIA. Over the last two years more than 15000 cases were registered by FIA.
