Govt Plans To Provide A Best Platform To Women Entrepreneurs

The Government of Pakistan has taken a big step for the women entrepreneurs to facilitate them in the business and trade sector. The Ministry of Commerce decided to develop National Database for Women Entrepreneurs. The decision was made during second meeting for the Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) in the presence of Commerce Secretary Muhammad Sualeh Faruqui. The virtual meeting was also attended by high profile names and companies including Facebook, i2i, P@SHA, e-Commerce marketplaces, Women Chambers, the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce, and leading fashion designer, The State Bank of Pakistan, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (Islamabad), and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority.
Officials of the Pakistan-Regional Economic Integration Activity, USAID, and the Asian Development Bank also attended and spoke about the role of women entrepreneurs’ integration internationally, small and medium enterprises, and the e-commerce portal. During the meeting Commerce Secretary Muhammad Sualeh Faruqui said:
“This will cover the creation of a national database of women entrepreneurs, business facilitation, ease of doing business, training, and access to finance,”
