For the Galaxy S4 Google Play edition, Samsung has started pushing out the Android 4.4 KitKat update. Right after HTC pushed out the KitKat update for the HTC One Google Play Station, the update comes.

Along with the Nexus devices, one of the reasons for getting these Google Play edition devices was the promise of getting Android updates on time and to keeping that promise, they’ve been pretty close. In fact even before some of the Nexus users who’re still waiting for their KitKat update, this time around these phones have gotten the update.

Along with the Nexus phones and the Moto X, the Google Play edition phones are now the handful of devices to have installed the very latest version of Android. Check the Setting app to see if it is available, if you haven’t received the notification yet.
