In the country, 3G technology has been introduced and all the cellular networks are using the 3G technology after winning in the open auction last month. Now the government is facing problems as the mobile phone jammers are not working to stop the service being carried out by the 3G. The law enforcement agencies are facing problems as the signals are not being blocked and the mobile phone jammers are facing adverse situation. The law enforcing agencies are going to install the mobile phone jammers on the sensitive places in capital at the National Assembly buildings and all other important places in the country. The government is seeking advice from the PTA for the solution of this problem.

The local news channel gave the information that the law enforcement agencies were facing problems relating to non-blockage of the mobile phone services of 3G Technology at the sensitive areas and the mobile phone jammers installed there, did not work properly.

3G Technology

Mobile phone jammers transmit a noise signal at the particular frequency and the legitimate signals transmitting from the TV, GPS, Radio, cellular phones and others can block the services of the mobile phone services and no signals are received on the mobile phones and  the contact through the mobile phone does not remain possible.

Before the auction of 3G Technology, there was the 2G technology in the country and it can disrupt the signals travelled between 900 Mhz and 1800 Mhz. The mobile phone jammers already installed there, were capable of disrupting the signals between these ranges. With the advent of 3G Technology in the country, these mobile phone jammers are sufficient for the blocking of the cellular signals during the 3G era.

When the decision was made for the installation of the mobile phone jammers, various mobile phone jammers were purchased in the multiple frequency bands and they had the ability to block the signals in more than one frequency. To save the cost, some of the mobile phone jammers were purchased, which can block the signals in two band signals.

Now 3G networks are deployed in Pakistan in 2100 Mhz and these jammers became unable to block the services of 3G Technology as the 2100 Mhz signals are beyond their capability.

To combat with the current problem, the government will have to upgrade the existing jammers or they can also replace them so that they can become capable of blocking the cellular signals of 2G and 3G networks.

It means that new tenders will be called and more FnF will be grabbed. But law enforcing agencies can do all this and they should need to worry. They will have to do it to solve the problems.

If there are any illegal jammers being installed there, and the individuals have installed them unofficially, they will also not work properly for the blockage of the 3G signals.
