It turns out that proportionally Apple has the largest fanbase in Japan, though the company’s main market is in the US. Analysts from kantar reports, that in the month of October, Apple’s iPhones accounted for 76% of smartphone sales in Japan.
Kantar reports that through the country’s biggest carrier NTT DoCoMo, 61% of the smartphones sold were iPhones.
To the total number, it’s not clear how much the iPhone 5c has contributed; there are plenty of reports dedicated to 5c of low demand and reductions of manufacturing capacity.
According to analysts, the iPhone 5s outsold the 5c by 40% in October in the US at least.
